These water repellent rigger boots from Cofra protect the toe with a steel cap resistant to 200 J and abrasion resistant polyurethane.

The Cofra Castle Boot’s foot bed is made with EVANIT & nitrile special compound. It holds a high bearing capacity, and is also thermoformed, anatomic, punched and coated with breathable fabric. The boot is also antistatic, done using a specific treatment on the surface & seams.

The sole is made is a dual density polyurethane, and the midsole is stainless steel, protecting the entire foot as much as possible.

Why are rigger boots banned?

It has become popular in recent years for rigger boots to be easy to put on and to look like a cross between lace up boots and wellingtons. However, some businesses have found that these boots are more likely to cause ankle injuries such as twisted or sprains.

The claim is that rigger boots are looser fitting and the wearer is less able to prevent the foot from twisting sideways on uneven ground. This is why some contractors won’t allow them on site.  This is an acceptable argument and you need to recognize it.
